The Journey

After a long, fruitful professional journey, we turned to follow our passion - Food!

Lifelong foodies, we figured many of our fondest memories were associated with food. Strangely speaking, the dishes that evoked maximum nostalgia were foods from the streets of India.

From the Aloo Chaat to the Malai Toast, the Pani Puri to Pav Bhaji, Lukmi Samosa to Mutton Rolls, our taste buds and memories were somehow intertwined with the wares sold out of ‘thelas’.

When we decided to translate our passion into something concrete, we chose to travel the length and breadth of our vast country, sampling and tasting street food to bring to you.

The Hawking St. was born to serve quality, delicious and authentic street food from across India in a setting reminicent of your favourite 'adda'.

Sanghamitra Sarcar

A chartered accountant by profession with over 25 years’ experience in top management and global leadership roles, Sanghamitra has chosen to follow her passion to be an entrepreneur. Sanghamitra imbibed the love for food from her father. She cherishes the moments when a meal she has cooked is appreciated by the happy smiles of her guests. She enjoys spicy, chatpata dishes that not only taste like heaven but also evoke positive emotions. Hawking St. is her dream project where she hopes to make eating food an experience one will never forget.

Anish Dev

With over 20 years of work experience in overall planning, design, project management and coordination of urban infrastructure, master planning, industrial, power, GIS and Solar project, Anish has chosen to add one more feather to his cap – Entrepreneur.
Anish is a foodie at heart who loves his Chole Bhatures and Mutton Biryanis. A Delhi boy who is a stickler for cleanliness and quality, Anish is the hawk in the Hawking St. who keeps a strict eye on the hygiene factor.
Particular about the ambience and settings, Anish has also helped in making a place that is worthy of pictures and some awesome get-togethers.

Deepak Bhatia

Mr. Deepak Bhatia is the Chief Executive Officer of Snowbell Restaurant Company, UAE. In his previous stint he was in the position of Senior Vice President of Lite Bite Foods, A sister concern of Dabur India Group. His leadership has been instrumental in the growth of the LBF brands.

Deepak has a broad and extensive experience of more than 25 years in the hospitality Industry. He has worked with some of the finest F&B brands like Nirula’s, Ruby Tuesday, Sbarro, Mandarin Trail, Häagen-Dazs, The Yellow Chilli and Sura Vie. In the past he spearheaded the project of creating a base kitchen at Ruby Tuesday, where the sauces and seasonings which were being sourced from outside started creating in India. Mr. Bhatia holds a degree in Hotel Management and an MBA in sales and marketing and is respected for his significant contributions to the industry.

Deepak would bring in his extensive experience for operational excellence and brand growth both in domestic and international markets.
